Be Responsive

If you’re unfamiliar with Responsive Web Design, here’s an easy demonstration: resize the window that you’re viewing this blog post in.  Drag the edges of the browser up, down, diagonally, and watch as the elements inside the page continually shift and reposition themselves.  Notice how key information stays visible, even as the page grows extremely narrow.  It’s a fluid adaptation that ensures that the site looks great no matter how a viewer is viewing it.

If you do the same thing on your own homepage, chances are you won’t see any adjustment. If you make the page smaller, text will get clipped, images will disappear, and important elements such as your calls to action will drop out of sight. Not only does this affect what your visitors see, it affects their ability to use your site easily.  Visitors who struggle to find the information they’re looking for will likely abandon the site and try again elsewhere.

If your site is not responsive, you’re missing an important opportunity to give your visitors the best web experience.
